Enrolment

Starting School

Your child may begin Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year in which he/she turns 5, on or before 31st July.  By law all children must be enrolled by their sixth birthday.  Prior to enrolment, the original birth certificate, proof of residential address and an immunisation certificate must be produced.  Photocopies are not accepted.

In 2017, an Orientation Day will be held on Tuesday 24 October,8:45am - 11:00am in Primary Hall and will be followed by a transition to school program which will take place on Thursday 16 November and Thursday 23 November on the K-2 sit, Phillip Street.

Enrolment

All local children who meet DEC criteria are entitled to enrol at our school.  Non-local enrolments are considered where vacancies exist, and in accordance with our school's Enrolment Policy.  A non-local application can be made for students not living within the local zoned intake area.  Attached is a map of our school boundaries.

Because students start new work in their new class at the beginning of the school year, it would be an advantage for your child both socially and educationally, to start school as soon as possible in the new year.

Enrolment Appointments

For your appointment, if your child has not been previously enrolled in a NSW public school, you will need to bring these documents with you:
  • Your child's birth certificate and identity documents
  • Proof of student's address - originals of different documents such as your council rates notice or residential lease and electricity bill
  • Immunisation history statement based on the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR)
  • Family law or other relevant court orders (if applicable)

It is important you tell the principal if your child has any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions, before your child starts school.
