Home / School Hall
  • It is through the hard work, patience and tenacity of the parents of Oyster Bay PS, since 1990 in particular, that the school now has a new hall and upgraded facilities.

    • The idea of a school hall being established at Oyster Bay Public School started in the early 1990s. It was proudly announced by the then State Member for Sutherland, Mr Chris Downy, at the 50th Anniversary Assembly held on the 28th October, 1994. After a change in State Government, the project was put on hold for many years but with the persistence of the P & C Association and the support of the Member for Miranda, Mr Barry Collier, the project was resurrected during the years 2000-2001.
  • The project was completed one year after the anticipated finishing date. This lateness was due to the inclusion of disabled access ramps on particularly uneven gradients and the fact that the completion of each stage of the project was dependent on the completion of the prior stage.

  •

  • The school community is proud of the new facilities. The School Hall consists of;

            ·         The main auditorium space
    ·         Boys, girls and disabled toilets
    ·         4 internal storerooms used for storage of the School Band equipment; a chair store; an internal cleaner’s storeroom and a storeroom used for general storage and the school uniform shop
    ·         4 external storerooms used for storage of Sports equipment; an external cleaner's storeroom; a general assistant’s work room and a storeroom used for general storage.

    • The hall is used for school band practices, instrumental tutoring groups, rehearsals by the school’s dance groups and 3-6 choir, K-6 and 3-6 assemblies, hosting visiting performers, school discos, sport, drama and a wet weather area.
